The 100 most interesting posts on the Adobe ColdFusion blog, the past 3 years
Note: This blog post is from 2017. Some content may be outdated--though not necessarily. Same with links and subsequent comments from myself or others. Corrections are welcome, in the comments. And I may revise the content as necessary. The Adobe ColdFusion team blog often has really some interesting content, but I find that some people are either not aware of the blog or just don't keep up on it, or perhaps they have trouble finding something they saw before or maybe heard was there.
So here I present what I feel are the 100 (technically, 105) most interesting/useful posts made there over the past 3 years (2014-16), offering information about CF and CFML which should be valuable to readers for years to come.
This post was motivated somewhat by my previous one highlighting what I felt were my own top 15 most useful posts of the last year. I realize few watch every post offered, and some may be useful but not readily found via google searching.
As for the Adobe blog, perhaps folks may recall seeing some particular post and want to revisit it, but if a search doesn't find it, there are so many other posts there announcing things like upcoming events or news of upcoming CF updates, and such. It can be a bit tedious paging back through the history trying to find some particular content you might recall seeing in the past, as I found for myself. So I started putting this list together to help everyone.
What kinds of posts I did NOT include in this list
So let me note first that in my lists below:
- I don't list posts about events that are/were upcoming, and ancillary posts related to those
- I don't list posts about specific CF or CF Builder updates (as there so many, across the 3 currently supported CF versions, 10, 11, and 2016)
- I don't list posts announcing prereleases of CF or CF Builder
- I don't list posts about customer profiles
- and so on
Still, again, even ruling those out, I found over 100 posts the past 3 years that seem worth highlighting.
How I've organized the lists
I have broken the blog posts down first by year (for those who favor more recent content over older--something I'd be cautious about doing with any blog, as old content is often relevant for years). Then within each year I break them down by categories (which I came up with, not necessarily matching the categories the Adobe blog post authors may have originally picked). I don't necessarily present the posts in date order within each category.
Finally, while some topics could logically appear under more than one category in a given year, I have opted here not to duplicate my listing of a given post except in one case where I felt it was warranted.
Again, my goal here is to help folks more readily (and easily) find and hopefully reconsider Adobe CF team blog posts which may be useful now even months or years later, and into the future.
BTW, in the interest of time, I didn't bother to obtain the actual titles of each post, since the URLs they use nearly always match the post title and so should be sufficient.

Posts Adobe Ought to Reprise
Before concluding this post, I would also make the observation (if any Adobe folks are reading this) that it could be helpful, I think, for them to reprise some posts, where the info is valuable for folks on later releases and/or contain references to other resources which would have changed/been updated since the post was first offered:
- https://web.archive.org/web/20161202030956//can-i-get-an-update-if-you-re-looking-for-coldfusion-updaters
- https://web.archive.org/web/20161202030956//how-to-change-upgrade-jdk-version-of-coldfusion-server
Along the same lines, some posts are worth reprising even if the info hasn't changed, just to make sure that all CF users (who read the blog) would be aware of general interest things, like:
- https://web.archive.org/web/20161202030956//adobe-coldfusion-slack-channel
- https://web.archive.org/web/20161202030956//trycf-com-excellent-learning-initiative-for-coldfusion
- https://web.archive.org/web/20161202030956//new-product-roadmap-for-coldfusion
In Conclusion
Hope you found that list helpful. I do plan to keep going back into earlier years (2013-2009), because I know I have continued to point folks to posts from even that far back.
I'd love to hear what you think of this list and that idea.
